Dr. Schlyer: When you take hormones, you are doing a symphony. You have to control estrogen, progesterone, DHEA, T3, T4, testosterone, and vitamin D. If you don't do that, then you will have problems with it. I tell people that you can go to a clinic that is a one-man band on the corner beating a drum and they'll give you testosterone, but that's not the way to adequately treat somebody for hormone replacement.
