What is the Vampire Facial?

Renuvia Medical Center is proud to offer Vampire Facial® treatments, which help patients revive and restore their skin. To stimulate skin restoration, the Vampire Facial uses a handpiece with tiny needles. These needles make micro-injuries to the skin on your face, neck, or torso. As an additional bonus, we can apply your platelet-rich plasma (PRP) to the treatment area. This helps your skin heal and enables it to grow new cells. Both of these procedures can diminsh the appearance of fine lines, wrinkles, scars, spots, and other skin issues. Without damaging the epidermis, you can greatly improve the look and feel of your skin. If you want to learn more about Vampire Facials, please schedule a one-on-one consultation with Dr. Arthur Schlyer at his office in New Port Richey, FL.

Ideal Candidates

A good candidate for a Vampire Facial is any patient who wants to enhance the look or feel of their skin. If you have an uneven skin tone, dry skin, rough texture, age spots, fine lines, acne, or scarring, you might benefit from a Vampire Facial. Unfortunately, this treatment is not recommended for everyone. Certain factors that might prevent you from receiving a Vampire Facial, include:

  • being pregnant
  • using Accutane for acne
  • still having active acne
  • having facial eczema or rosacea

Our Vampire Facial Techniques

Before we start your Vampire Facial, we will draw a small amount of your blood for PRP collection. We'll spin that blood in a centrifuge to separate the components of your blood. During the process, your harvested cells, platelets, and growth factors will turn into PRP. For your Vampire Facial treatment, Renuvia Medical Center uses state-of-the-art MD Pen microneedling technology to make small micro-injuries to your skin. The tiny needles penetrate your skin at the depth of  2.5mm which stimulates the creation of collagen. When the microneedling is complete, the PRP serum is placed on your skin and allowed to sink in. Once the PRP is fully absorbed, we'll clear away excess serum and clean your skin.

What to Expect

After your Vampire Facial, you might experience mild side effects such as swelling, bruising, or redness. We recommend that you avoid wearing makeup, using exfoliating skin cleansers, and submerging in pools for approximately three days. These types of activities can expose the skin to strong chemicals and bacteria which may lead to negative symptoms. You should also avoid sun exposure or use protective measures when going outdoors. As the skin starts to repair and heal itself, patients should see their final results within a few weeks.
